The result had to be close to perfection when Abbey Lee Kershaw was invited to participate on the new eye-wear campaign by Tom Ford.

I must say that this year the British Fashion Awards really nailed it! Alexander McQuenn received the “BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design“, Lara Stone was the “Model of the year” and Mulberry was the “Designer Brand of the Year“.
However, and I don’t know if you’ll agree, but in my opinion Phoebe Philo was the most deserving price, she received the “Designer of the Year” for her work at Celine, and let’s be honest she was able to turn the brand around and in an extremely successful way.

Being a graduate from Central Saint Martins she, of course, knows the best cut, having worked with Stella also helps. However, what’s makes Phoebe so special is her street cool touch. She gave Celine the “it” factor that the brand needed so deeply. I’m very excited to see what she will show in the next seasons, I think it’s important that she maintains Celine young chique look with a little Phoebe twist.
My favorites of Phoebe Philo for Celine this year:

As NY fashion week arrives at the speed of light (Feb 10-17) comments about the production of new collections and the strategic moves to fight the current economic crises are pouring like rain…

“Fashion Week has confused consumers, they see things in the newspaper, then go to the store and see completely different things.”
“It’s important for everybody to shrink the offering, make it more exciting and maybe make it more often“
Diane von Furstenberg – designer and head of the Council of Fashion Designers of America
“It’s a very, very challenging time, but I think imagination and perfection prevail.”
Zac Posen – designer
“The recession has been very, very frightening“
Vera Wang – designer
“It’s up to the fashion industry to put it best foot forward and create things that will make everybody go, ‘God damn, I have to buy that,‘”
“Maybe that’s what fashion’s about — putting on this facade and this gloss over everything and making it look fabulous.”
Fern Mallis – senior vice president of IMG Fashion
“We’re all just trying to be a little more responsible, we have just tried to offer more, so that there’s more possibility for more people to afford things.“
Marc Jacobs – designer
“We need to engage the customer and make her realize how important it is that she’s not shopping for herself, but shopping to make a difference in the world and holding on to an industry that’s imperative“
Donna Karan – designer
“The most important thing is to get people into the stores shopping and feeling good about it,“
Anna Wintour – editor in chief of Vogue
What are you’re expectations for the fall/winter 11 shows?
My guess is that this year we’ll see different styles, with more choice at a more affordable price, and as Lanvin (Alber Elbaz) has been doing, create a certain continuity between collections. 2010 was the year of collaborations between renown houses and massive salles stores, Valentino for Gap, Lanvin pour H&M, I’m quite sure that this phenomenon will occur again next year.

Can Karl cease to surprise?
Where’s an invitation to the incredible world of Chanel

Desrues, Goossens for goldsmithing, Guillet, Lemarie, Lesage, Michel and Massaro are the artisans who inspired this show. In order to pay honor to the work of the house’s artisans, Karl organized a show where richness, glamour and detail were a manifest. Inspired by the Empress Theodora of the Byzantine empire, Chanel presented a truly luxurious collection always maintaining the House’s true spirit.
Was I able to arouse your curiosity? If you want to discover more details about the show and the process that led to the final product check out the cherry blossom girl blog. She made an excellent piece on the subject.

After a short visit to Shangai Dior has decided that London should be the next stop. With an (London)Eye for great surroundings, and the perfect face of Marion Cotillard, Dior achieved yet another great billboard.

To me it seems as if Marion is trying to reveal a secret… her eyes, her body, it’s truly romantic. The colors of the add, and the way she is introducing the bag is so special, Lady Dior Lady Grey London is surely one to have!

Don’t you feel like visiting the Royal City after this?!

I’m warning you this girl is so amazing I don’t even need words! See for yourself…

Powerful, strong, energetic, charismatic, those are some of the reasons that support her success!
This American girl owes her graceful looks on the runway to the ballet classes she took on NY. Very grounded and motivated Karlie has worked for Marc Jacobs, Hermès, YSL, Donna Karen, Dior, just to name a few.

Chicago must have something special. Are you able to notice how she’s angel like on one frame and aggressive and dark on the next?
That’s what I call a real worthy model! It’s definitely a pretty face, but there’s just something about her.

Want to purchase key peaces in an affordable way? The answer is within the man in the black shirt, the one whose laugh is so unforgeable and contaminating!
Yes… it’s the polite, gentleman, charismatic Michael Kors. I mean, I could actually live only wearing his clothes. Yes… it would be (a bit!) boring, but only because I love to mix and splash. But the truth is that he’s our friend girls! He gives us the pieces we need, the watches, glasses, purses… If I was to travel right now… I would certainly pack Kors style.
But let’s get to the point… Spring Summer… it’s such an amazing collection. I surely wish the sun would come up to wear it!

Chique, elegant, comfortable, colorful, resourceful, diversified, basically to die for!
Can you not imagine yourself on a hot sunny day looking your best wearing those dresses? What about that long green skirt?
